Many glitches, but interesting

To anyone having trouble with shape recognition, draw slowly to produce circles, a medium speed to produce rectangles, and a fast to produce lines.
Very interesting and challenging game. I would like to see this improved.

I beat it!

For graphics, I thought Sleeping Meadows was so pretty! In a lot of these type of games, graphics are uninteresting. People forget to enjoy the beauty of the world.
There was also a little humor, which I liked. I laughed when the guy in Tatapolis pointed out that he had two beds.
I was wondering, does anything really happen when you kill 14 Lurks in a row? Once I went back to Dreamwood Forest to try it but I decided to get back on task with killing elementals.
You could make the game harder by making items that you can only collect once. For example, to get all the M-rald, you could exit and re-enter the cave and get the same one over again.

LonLonRanch responds:

hah, I'm glad you enjoyed the graphics and the humor : ) - Nothing actually happens when you kill 14 Lurks in a row, I just wanted to see if people would actually do it hehe.

Newgrounds doesn't need this.

I never think it's necessary to have tutorials about how Newgrounds works. I don't know if any newbs actually watch these to learn how to use the site, and I think part of the interest of using the internet comes from discovering things without direct tutorials.
Anyway though, it's nice that you themed your flash like website. The buttons and text fields looked like these, and the Endless Handbag Loop was a good touch.

Patacorow responds:

well, maybe you think so. You don't how that every day, more and more users are signing up?

They waddle around and There are a lot of tutorials in NG for how to start your account,
but this is more for the userpage.

Think about it, maybe you are not a newb, but there are tons of newbs in newgrounds!

Seriously.

Beautiful and addictive

Wow, that was good! I played it several times until I beat it with a 2350560 point picture with both a shark and a turtle. The graphics were peaceful and beautiful, and the notebook looked realistic with its details such as words crossed out.

Not necessary

I don't think this is good enough to be necessary. It could have described how to make more different types of preloaders, or at least explain the code in more detail. If people understand how the code works, they can figure out themselves how to modify it in various ways to create more unique loaders. However, one thing I liked were the pictures that showed the procedures. These make it more interesting to use than tutorials that are just words.

Too basic, but good for a simple tutorial

I think it's acceptable to submit tutorials to the Flash Portal, if people do not overdo tutorials on the same topics. Basic ActionScript stuff is a litte overdone, but this was good within the simple tutorial category. It is good that it did not just provide code to copy/paste, but explained and gave examples. I would like to see some more advanced tutorials like this.
At least on my computer, the music stopped after the song played once. What was the name of that song anyway? It sounds familiar.

FozT responds:

yeah, i see where your coming from - if i get time, perhaps i will make a more advanced tutorial that covers more.

Thanks for the constructive comments.

potential for games

Wow, that must have been very complicated to code. I think it would be good for adding originality to typical games. Like, for example, I guess you could make a version of Tetris in which you slingshot the pieces in place--
Generally, I think it's beautiful when coding is put together in weird, original ways to make games. It's almost more important than how fun the game is. I think this sling ball will be very useful to create such artistic works.

Well--

That was ridiculous, but it was also creative. Normally I vote 0 on such submissions, but this is the first time I have seen a single-frame flash presented as a game.

needs improvement

I thought it was an interesting feature that if you pressed [space] several times fast, you can kind of jump in the air. Unrealistic, but interesting. Something that needs to be fixed is that when you stand on a moving platform, it moves although the stick person doesn't move with it. Also improve the backgrounds.

Make a full version

This was fun and addicting. I hope you make more levels. I think you should make it so word guesses can be entered by pressing [enter]. Also, you should know that "lightbulb" is not a word (although I guessed it right, haha). It's 2 words, "light bulb".
